This delightfully laid-back hotel has been charming guests in the resort town of Búzios since 1974 when Casas Brancas comprised just four rooms and reservations were made to a local payphone. Back then, Amalia de la Maria and Affonso Bebianno Montenegro opened Casas Brancas for the adventurous tourist seeking remote and pretty spots.
Fortunately, the DNA of Casas Brancas has been maintained; still owned by the same family who have safeguarded the original concept and intention to this day, with a few stylish updates along the way. Once a quiet fishing village, the narrow, Mediterranean-style cobbled streets of Búzios have been glammed up considerably following the arrival of Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s, with many international glitterati following in her wake. This naturally earnt Búzios the title of “Brazilian Saint-Tropez”.
