Competition details:

Escape to this peaceful hideaway for some rejuvenating you-time!
Tucked away in a quiet valley near Croyde, where woodland meets moorland and the sea air rolls in off the Atlantic, The Barn is a Nordic-inspired retreat for two – a place that’s built for slowing right down. Think a super-king bed with White Company linen, a freestanding bath, underfloor heating, an outdoor firepit and a wood-burning stove for when the North Devon evenings turn cool.

But it’s what’s on the doorstep that makes this corner of Devon so special. North Devon is one of the country’s best wild swimming destinations, with hidden coves, rock pools and tidal pools scattered along the coast between Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe – perfect for a bracing dip before breakfast or a golden hour swim as the sun goes down. The Barn’s local experts recommend the Mermaid Pool in Croyde as their top place for a sea swim.

It’s also a haven for surfers and SUP boarders, with some of the UK’s best breaks, while the wilds of Exmoor sit just above, offering miles of walking trails for those who’d rather explore on foot.

For something a little different, The Garden Gallery sits right next door – a converted stable block turned contemporary art space, where multidisciplinary artist Ted Humble-Smith’s photography, relief casting and printmaking bring the textures and light of the landscape to life – you can also enjoy a wander through the surrounding gardens.

THE PRIZE
A peaceful three-night stay for two people, to be taken between the start of November 2026 and the end of April 2027.
