From the heart of Speyside comes a pair of spirits that put provenance and quality firmly at the centre of the bottle.
Eight Lands is an independent, family-owned brand crafted at Glenrinnes Distillery in north-east Scotland, where its small-batch gin and vodka are made using pure mountain spring water drawn from the base of Ben Rinnes.
Founded in 2019 by father-and-stepson team Alasdair Locke and Alex Christou, the brand takes its name from the eight historic counties said to be visible from the summit of Ben Rinnes on a clear day. Its home sits within a 6,000-acre family estate of Scottish countryside, woodland and farmland, with an organic ethos that extends to the production of its spirits.
Eight Lands has recently unveiled a new look for its premium range: intricate gold-leaf illustrations celebrate the landscape, flora and fauna surrounding Glenrinnes, while the label takes inspiration from the silhouette of Ben Rinnes and the architecture of the distillery.
The liquid inside has already earned international recognition. Eight Lands Organic Speyside Gin was named Best of Class at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, while its Organic Speyside Vodka picked up a Gold medal.
Now, one lucky squaremile.com reader can experience both for themselves. We’re giving away a bottle of Eight Lands Organic Speyside Gin (£39.44) alongside a bottle of its Organic Speyside Vodka (£37.40) – a suitably smooth taste of Speyside to add to your drinks cabinet.
