The Crown sits in the heart of the quintessentially English village of Stoke-by-Nayland, a perfect place to explore Constable Country. Alongside a few village shops and a 15th-century church, there are lots of walks reaching into the countryside, including the villages of Dedham, East Bergholt and Flatford to name a few.
A village pub rooted in its surroundings; there are 11 bedrooms in ‘The Folly’ and three new lodges with terraces that boast views across the fields.
In the restaurant, award-winning food, inspired by the seasons, is served from breakfast through to dinner. Championing local food producers, menus rely on seasonal ingredients with pub classics as well as sharing boards, hearty pies, fish and desserts. Sunday roasts are a favourite and there are dedicated menus for children visiting.
The bar is open throughout the day and there is a selection of local ales as well as a wine list that has a selection of everyday favourites, or the Black Book has an extended list of unusual pours and rare picks.
