Bladnoch, Scotland’s oldest privately owned Scotch whisky distillery, is offering the chance to win the first two single malt whisky releases in its exclusive five-part series, The Wave Master Distiller’s Collection.

Crafted by master distiller Dr Nick Savage, The Wave explores the marrying process of whiskies on a journey to reveal the five pillars of Bladnoch’s whisky making.

To create The Wave, Dr Nick Savage selected five Amontillado sherry tuns to be filled with whiskies from a unique combination of cask types from the distillery’s 208-year-old bluestone warehouses. With each Wave expression, the remaining whisky will be transferred to the next tun – creating a wave effect throughout the series.

Wave I: Time & Maturation was released in 2024 and highlights the art of selecting casks at their peak to capture the most refined flavours.

Launched this month, Wave II: Distillery & Spirit celebrates Bladnoch’s distinctive Lowland character, marrying re-charred butts and barrels with first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. This carefully crafted expression champions the fruity, floral notes that define Bladnoch’s bold Galloway spirit.

Bottled at 57% ABV, Wave II: Distillery & Spirit opens with aromas of pear drops and summer barley, while there are flavours of baked pineapples with ginger snaps on the palate and the finish is floral and fresh yet spiced.

Wave I and Wave II are limited to 1,817 bottles in tribute to the year the distillery was founded and are exclusively available to purchase at Bladnoch Distillery or via bladnoch.com
