Formally the Convent of Mercy, the Cookie Jar stands proudly on the cobbled streets of Bailiffgate, adjacent to Alnwick Castle – the family seat to the Duke of Northumberland.

The Cookie Jar has 11 beautifully appointed bedrooms, including a suite which was the original Chapel. The bedrooms boast drench showers, some with heavenly bath tubs, great beds, luxury linens, a plentiful supply of Penhaligon’s toiletries and of course, your welcome jar of freshly baked cookies.

The lounge hosts a magnificent selection of books and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or indeed something stronger from our healthily stocked wine cellar with its eclectic range of hidden gems alongside some old favourites.

To the rear of the Cookie Jar, you will find the Bistro – offering simple, locally sourced food using the best produce from both land and sea.
