Smith’s Bar & Grill’s new tasting menu is eight courses of seasonal ingredients, wine, and thoughtful execution, and to celebrate its launch, they’re giving one lucky winner (plus three very fortunate guests) the chance to experience it all on the house. That’s dinner for four, with wine pairings, worth over £300.

The menu starts with fizz and ends with grappa, with a series of standout dishes in between. Expect hand-dived scallops served on the shell, truffle-filled egg yolk fritters, and Scottish beef tartare finished with a quail egg yolk. There’s also Tuscany-style cod, and a chargrilled fillet steak with foie gras and gratin potatoes, followed by profiteroles.

Every course has the option of a perfectly paired wine selected by the in-house sommelier. There’s also a live violinist and a DJ providing the soundtrack.

Dinner is available every Friday and Saturday night, and for those arriving early (or simply unwilling to resist a bargain), there’s an oyster happy hour from 6pm-10pm, with £1 oysters and a solid pre-dinner drinks list to get you started.
