For more than 70 years, Orient has been crafting high-quality watches, blending reliable in-house movements with innovative designs. The Japanese brand is renowned for producing its own movements – an impressive feat, especially given the accessible price points of its timepieces.
Orient’s Sports Collection has recently expanded with three new Mako Diver models, including two featuring solar-powered movements. Since its debut in 2004, the Orient Mako Diver has gained a strong following and is now synonymous with the brand. For the first time, this iconic lineup includes solar-powered chronographs alongside its well-loved mechanical models.
The new solar-powered Mako Chronograph Solar models harness energy from sunlight and other light sources, eliminating the need for battery replacements. Their design features a uni-directional rotating bezel with six grooves – a signature of the series – alongside a sunray dial with a fine lustre finish. Solar charging is achieved through the three subdials: the 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock; the 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock; and the small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock
An Arabic numeral at 12 o’clock, inspired by the original Mako Diver design, adds a distinctive touch. Additionally, Luminous Light on the numeral, indices, and hands ensures easy readability in the dark.
We’ve teamed up with Orient to give you a chance to win the new Orient Mako Chronograph Solar model in black, RA-TX0202B.
