Competition details:

Dreaming of an escape to the coast? Ballygally Castle is offering one lucky winner the chance to win a two night stay for two, with a dinner and an experience included.

Positioned on the rugged Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland, with sweeping seaside views and a rich history, the luxurious Ballygally Castle is ‘the jewel in the Hastings crown’ and has been extensively renovated to ensure guests receive all the modern comforts whilst still offering the ultimate historic staycation. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing and romantic retreat, an active family holiday, or even a grand wedding, Ballygally Castle is perfectly positioned for experiencing the wonders of Northern Ireland.

Ballygally Castle stands proud overlooking Ballygally beach and it’s location makes it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the untouched Causeway Coast. After a full Irish breakfast, complete with a menu which details where all the ingredients came from, guests can embark on a cliff walk and enjoy unparalleled views across the Irish sea towards Scotland. The hotel also provides access to a plethora of outdoor activities: think Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Sheans Horse Farm adventures, outdoor laser tag, archery, and zip-lining.

The hotel itself dates back to 1625 and is the only 17th century building still used as a residence in Northern Ireland today. Its interiors reflect this expansive history and those who visit can expect elegant and traditional rooms with plenty of period features, a sophisticated dining room with original beams and well-kept gardens, perfect for an afternoon stroll. Time spent exploring is always best rounded off with a quiet evening and guests can retreat to the castle walls to relax come nightfall. You’ll have the luxury of choosing between its 54 bedrooms, ranging from spacious deluxe rooms to beautiful junior suites.

Not only does Ballygally have an enviable position overlooking the coast, but it is famous for its role in hit TV show ‘Game of Thrones’, as it was used as the location for Winterfell and the Kings Road. The castle is the perfect spot to use as a base for exploring the filming locations and is the proud home of Game of Thrones Door of Thrones No. 9, which depicts the famous battle between House Stark and House Bolton in the penultimate episode of Season 6. Carved on this beautiful door, you will see the crests of House Bolton and House Stark, Ramsey Bolton’s hungry dogs and Winterfell Castle.

Plus, the hotel offers special Game of Thrones themed activities for devoted fans, from its curated tour to afternoon tea to a Game of Thrones themed wedding.
